Rick Larkins creates musical dialogue in a broad range of moods & genre. While trained in the classical - - Rachmaninoff, Chopin, Debussy - -and raised in an era of musical Renaissance, Rick has developed a style that is distinctly and uniquely his own.
While scores of musicians have made careers out of imitating masters of their instruments, only a handful of artists steer clear of emulation to discover their own distinct voices. Rick Larkins stands tall as one such creative artist. At times, enormously powerful and gracefully pensive, blazingly swift & softly melodic, his music reveals him with breathtaking skill, soulful passion and an unpredictables jesting.
Using a variety of self-constructed, alternative-time values and cross-coordinating hand conjunctions, Rick entices his piano to speak, to cry, to inflate with passion, and to burst with surprises.

He began taking formal lessons at age 5, however, most of his musical time was spent alone with the piano where he learned, composed, created and developed a love affair & partnership with his music.
